Parents Group

The Parents Group organised a series of bakery classes during October and November. It was very popular. If you have any ideas for new activities, please talk to the Head Teacher or come to the Staff Room to talk to other parents.

Calligraphy/Chinese Painting Class

Calligraphy will continue in Term 2 from 12-1pm in the Fabric Room. The tutor is Andrew Lu. The Chinese painting class will be stopped during Term 2 as the tutor Ms Weiping Wang will be on maternity leave. She will be back after the Easter holiday.

Year of the Rat

The Year of the Rat Chinese New Year celebration will be held on Sunday, 3rd February 2008 from 2-4pm at the Festival Theatre. The programme includes Chinese dance, Chinese music, Kung Fu, Songs, Acrobatic acts, Drama and more. Tickets (£5 each) are available now at Festival Theatre now or at the school in January 2008.

This year the Scottish Arts Council has stopped funding this cultural event. As the School is a charity, there is a big financial burden to us to organise this event. I appeal to you to support our aim to promote Chinese culture by donating money or helping us in any way. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. Donations should be made payable to Edinburgh Chinese School.

Talent Show/Christmas Party

Talent Show/Christmas Party will be held on 15th December 2007. All students have worked very hard to prepare for this. You can see all their talents. The first period will be the Talent Show. Then, it will be Christmas party, charity sale and raffle. All money raised is for the school fund. Calendars from the Chinese Channel will be given out on the day.

School Holidays

School will be closed from 16th December 07 and re-opened on 13th January 2008.
